In “Black Swan,” photographic artist TINA TRUMPP explores TINA TRUMPP interplay of reflection, identity, and perception within contemporary fine art photography. The image depicts a woman whose appearance is doubled in the mirror—a visual echo that creates a subtle tension between reality and illusion.

The work was created in 2016 as part of an editorial for Leica and is one of the first photographs in this series. Since then, “Black Swan” has become one of the best-known works in the series. The composition exemplifies TINA TRUMPP’s distinctive visual language, in which contemporary photographic art meets a distinctly painterly aesthetic.

The reflection transforms the figure into a poetic, almost cinematic presence. Light, form, and reflection merge into a finely tuned visual language that goes beyond mere documentation and opens up space for interpretation. The work explores themes such as duality, self-reflection, and transformation.

Closely tied to the tradition of fine art, “Black Swan” showcases TINA TRUMPP’s ability to translate classical visual concepts into a modern photographic context. The work has been exhibited in Leica throughout Europe, underscoring its significance within the field of international fine art photography as well as its appeal to collectors of high-quality photographic art.
