“Portrait of Mércèdes” was awarded the Bronze Prize at the 2019 Moscow International Photo Awards and is part of a series inspired by the works of Alexandre Dumas.

Taken in 2019 in Paris at the Hotel Monte Cristo, Tina Trumpp named these photographs after characters from the novel "The Count of Monte Cristo", a work completed by Alexandre Dumas in 1844, as well as "The Lady of the Camellias". Edmond Dantès, a sailor with a promising future, is engaged to Mercédès. On his wedding day, he is falsely accused of treason, arrested, and imprisoned without trial. After his transformation into the Count of Monte Cristo, he reveals his true name to his enemies as each of his acts of revenge unfolds. Over the course of the novel, he falls in love with Haydée.

"The Lady of the Camellias", another novel by Dumas, tells one of the greatest love stories of all time and recounts the story of Marguerite Gautier, the most famous courtesan.
