Limited-Edition Nude Photography in Exhibitions: Temptations – Shades of Sensuality

Four Leica Exhibitions, an Extraordinary Success Story

Between 2018 and 2021, a very special chapter was written in the history of my exhibitions at the Leica Galleries across Europe. Through my solo exhibitions in Porto, Rome, Salzburg, and Stuttgart, I was able to reach an international audience with a visual language that continues to hold a unique place in contemporary nude photography to this day.

Under the titles “Shades of Sensuality” and “Temptations,” an exhibition narrative emerged that went far beyond the presentation of individual photographs. It became a journey through sensuality, femininity, elegance, and emotion—and an extraordinary success.

The opening at the Leica Gallery Porto in March 2018 marked an important international milestone. Leica itself described my work as a unique, graceful, and sensual interpretation of the female nude.

This was followed in the summer of 2018 by the presentation of “Shades of Sensuality” in Rome, before the journey continued in 2020 with “Verführungen” at the Leica Gallery in Salzburg. Finally, this success story reached another high point with the major solo exhibition at the Leica Gallery in Stuttgart in 2020–2021. Due to the high level of interest, the exhibition was even extended through April 2021.

Nude Photography from a Female Perspective

What made these exhibitions special was not just the aesthetics of the images. It was, above all, the perspective.

Nude photography has traditionally been—and continues to be—strongly influenced by male perspectives. My work deliberately focused on a different perspective: the female gaze on the female body.

As a photographer, I have never sought to provoke for the sake of provocation, nor have I ever pursued a superficial pin-up aesthetic. My photographs are a tribute to women—to their beauty, their strength, their personality, their sensuality, and their vulnerability.

The Leica Gallery described this visual world as an “ode to women and their delicate beauty.” The works combine erotic sensuality with classical elegance, and their composition is repeatedly reminiscent of the great visual worlds of the Renaissance and classical painting.

An extraordinary success

The response to “Shades Of Sensuality” and “Verführungen” was overwhelming.

The audience responded with extraordinary enthusiasm to the more than 30 large-format photographs. Art lovers, photographers, collectors, and visitors to the Leica Galleries encountered a form of nude photography that viewed sensuality not as a superficial spectacle, but as an emotional and aesthetic expression.

The international exhibition, held in several major European cities, made it clear that this visual language resonates with people across cultural and geographical boundaries.

Leica described “Shades of Sensuality” as the international breakthrough of my work and as a decisive step into the top tier of nude photography. The exhibition “Verführungen” in Stuttgart was also presented as my largest solo exhibition to date—featuring more than 30 large-format works, some measuring up to 1.80 meters.

Nude photography was viewed in a new light

Perhaps one of the most significant achievements of this exhibition series is that it has helped bring nude photography to the forefront in a different context.

“Temptations – Shades of Sensuality” demonstrated that nude photography can be art: elegant, emotional, sophisticated, and full of personality.

The female perspective also changed the viewer’s perspective. The female body was not reduced to an object, but became the focal point of a distinct visual world—full of stories, imagination, strength, and beauty.

This gave rise to a form of contemporary nude photography that became socially acceptable and has found its rightful place in renowned galleries and among discerning art collectors.

The Exhibition Lives On

Even though the exhibitions in Porto, Rome, Salzburg, and Stuttgart are now a thing of the past, “Temptations – Shades of Sensuality” lives on.
